- XS, L, XL: enough stock to last until the next order lands.
- S, M run out before the delivery lands even if ordered today, so those sales can't all be saved; ordering now keeps the gap as short as possible.

The sales your sold-out sizes may be missing
Paste your store’s web address to count the sizes sold out on full-price styles you still sell. If we messaged you about sold-out sizes, the list came from your public product pages, the same pages this check reads.
This check needs JavaScript. Email us your store’s web address at jackparry@redprintstudios.com and we’ll send you the list of sizes sold out instead.
- Sizes sold out
- Styles affected
- Average price
- of a sold-out size
Some may be sold out on purpose, like the last sizes of a line you’re not repeating. Marked-down styles are left out for that reason.
Clothing and shoes with sizes, at full price: leave out accessories, gift cards and sale items. A rough figure is fine, and it stays in your browser.

How this is worked out
monthly sales of full-price sized styles × share of their sizes sold out × 40%
A day is the monthly figure × 12 ÷ 365. “Before a reorder arrives” is the same daily figure over your lead time, not an extra loss. The item count divides the monthly figure by the average price of a sold-out size.
Share of sizes sold out is read from your product pages today: sizes sold out on full-price styles that still have other sizes in stock. Styles sold out in every size and marked-down styles are left out, because they’re probably finished or being cleared. It’s a snapshot: a size that sold out this morning counts the same as one that’s been gone for months.
On 29 Oct 2026 we checked the public product pages of 20 clothing brands on our outreach list, picked partly because they had sizes sold out. On full-price styles, the median was 15.6% of sizes sold out.
40% is the share of shoppers who don’t buy something else from you when their size is gone. Two studies of real sales records found about 28%: Li et al. (2023), 217 single-brand footwear stores, where shoppers could try the next size; and Anderson, Fitzsimons and Simester (2006), a catalogue and website retailer that offered backorders. Shopper surveys put it higher: 43–49% in a worldwide study (Gruen, Corsten and Bharadwaj, 2002) and up to 65% among frustrated online shoppers (GT Nexus and YouGov, 2015, a survey paid for by a software company). Online, a sold-out button can’t offer the next size, so we use 40%, between the two.
It treats a sold-out size as selling about as well as your other sizes. It’s an estimate of sales, not profit, and not a promise of what a stock plan would win back.

How each number is worked out
Our live demo runs on Sample Brand Co., a sample clothing brand with simulated sales, and every number in it comes with its reason. Below, one size is worked through step by step: the Fleece Pullover in black, medium.

What to order now
Units per size for each style and colour, most urgent first, with the supplier, the date to order by and when it lands.
See it in the live demo →What’s already on order
Orders you’ve already placed are counted before the plan suggests more, so it doesn’t ask you to buy stock that’s on its way. You list them when we set it up.

Things to look at before you order: sizes selling far faster than usual, styles that come back a lot, and money sitting in stock with 6+ months’ cover or no sales in 90 days.

Which brands it suits
Good fit
- You reorder the same styles and sizes from your suppliers through the year.
- You sell on Shopify.
- Most of your online sales are sized clothing or shoes.
Not a fit yet
- You buy each style once for a season and don’t reorder.
- You make everything in house.
03How it works
Set up once, then a plan every morning
Email us
Send us your store’s web address and we’ll reply to find a time to set it up.
Set it up together
About an hour. You give the plan read-only access to your store and tell us your suppliers, how long each takes to deliver and what’s already on order.
A plan every morning
It’s worked out again each morning from your latest sales and stock, so it’s ready when you start.
You decide
Check the plan against how you’d normally buy, then place the orders you agree with.
Setup takes about an hour of your time, most of it listing suppliers and what’s already on order.

04Your data
Read-only, and only what the plan needs
The plan works from your products, stock and sales. That’s all it reads from your store.
- Store access
- Read-only. The plan can see products, stock and sales, but it can’t edit a price, a product or an order.
- What it reads
- What sold, in which size, and when. Shopify’s install screen lists orders, because that’s where sales come from. The plan reads what sold and how many, not who bought it.
- Never asks for
- Customer names, emails or addresses. Shopify keeps those behind a separate permission that we don’t request.
- Shared or sold
- Never. We use your data only to build your plan, and we never sell or share it.
- When you stop
- We delete your data within 30 days, sooner if you ask. You can also remove the plan’s access from your Shopify admin at any time.
05Questions
The questions brands usually ask
If yours isn’t here, email us at jackparry@redprintstudios.com.
I’ve seen my result. What now?
Email us your store’s web address and we’ll find a time to set it up with you. For 30 days the plan runs alongside how you buy now, for free, and you compare the two. The free check only reads what your website shows anyone; the plan works from your own sales and stock, size by size.
I already plan in a spreadsheet or an app.
You don’t have to stop. For the 30 days the plan runs alongside however you buy now, and you compare the two. One thing worth checking in your own sheet: when a size has been sold out for part of the month, last month’s sales make it look slower than it is. The plan only counts the days each size was actually on sale, so it doesn’t under-order your best sizes.
What happens after 30 days?
You tell us whether it helped. If you’d like to keep it, we’ll tell you the monthly price before the 30 days are up and you decide then. If not, we delete your data within 30 days. We don’t take card details for the trial, so nothing renews by itself.
How much of my time does it take?
About an hour to set up, most of it listing your suppliers and what’s already on order. After that it’s reading the plan in the morning and letting us know when you place an order, so it knows that stock is on its way.
Who sets it up?
Jack, our founder, does the setup with you: see who you’ll work with above.
Do you work with brands outside the UK?
Yes. The free trial is open to Shopify brands in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe as well as the UK. The plan runs on your store’s time zone and works in pounds, euros, and US, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars. If your store sells in another currency, email us first and we’ll check.
How accurate is it at the start?
It reads your past Shopify sales when it’s connected. What it can’t see is which days a size was sold out before then, so for the first few weeks it estimates those from gaps in sales, and slow sizes are rougher. It gets more accurate every day it runs.
Does it handle factory minimums?
Quantities are rounded to the 5s and 10s factories make. Minimum order quantities aren’t built in yet, so we note yours at setup and check the plan against them by hand.
What if a size is sold out on purpose?
Sometimes a missing size is on purpose, like the end of a line. Our messages and the free check only read what your website shows anyone, so they can’t tell the difference: treat the list as sizes to look through. The free check also leaves out marked-down styles, which are often being cleared, so its count can be lower than the one in our message.
Is it a good fit for my brand?
It works best if you reorder the same styles from your suppliers through the year: see who it’s for above.
